St. Louis, MO    Gateway International Raceway was the site of this weeks Thursday night Truck series race. Another week of down attendance only saw 6 drivers take to the track. Woody Sykes would pace practice with all 6 drivers within 3 tenths of each other, which had the makings of a great race. Qual Ace John Richards would blister the pole and grab the top spot and the only driver to top the 126 MPH mark. John would lead all 6 drivers to the green for this 70 lap event.

The green would drop and just 3 laps in Don Sutter would misjudge the safer barrier and be shot like a pinball to the inside wall. But Don great driving skills would get it straight and moving with no yellow flag coming out. The race length would lead to one pit stop which would be under green. John Richards would only lead the first 2 laps as Woody Sykes would take over for the next 30. Sykes has been on a roll as of late winning the last two events.

Pits stops would ensue putting our pole sitter out front for another 2 laps as he was one of the last to pit. Lap 57 would see our races only caution as Bill Sutter would miss a gear and take a spin in the turn. Definitely not a good night for the Sutter Brothers. Everyone would pit and regroup for the last 10 laps. With Tony Ratliff leading them back to green. From there Tony would show why he is the points leader and would pull away for his 6th win of the season.

ORP is next up on the schedule, another staple of the truck series that always produces an exciting finish.

If you have not tried the Truck Series what are you waiting for???? Consistently the best weekly racing series, mark it on your calendar, send the wife and kids out, and strap on your helmet for some in your face racing that will make waking up Friday that much better ....

The Gates open at 8:00pm EST for practice. Qualifying at 9:00pm EST
